April 2012

Dying Easter Eggs sans shirts. It always ensures that we don't get more stains than needed.

I loved this picture because both Brandon and Matthew have their heads tilted reading the newspaper while the eggs are dying.

The look of wonderment that the color actually adheres to the egg.

Matthew and Andrew sliding down the hill at the Egg Roll.

Brandon and Korbin on the scooters headed down the hill.

The Egg Roll was an event our friend Stephanie did when she was growing up in southern Utah. Each kid has a dozen hard boiled eggs and they roll them down a steep hill, seeing whose makes it the farthest and stays the most intact.

Once the eggs are rolled the kids sprint down the hill to see if they can claim victory.

Apparently, the older boys on the right graduated from rolling their eggs to throwing their eggs.

Some of the ensuing carnage of eggs. All participants were encouraged to be good citizens and the majority of egg pieces were picked up and thrown away.

The line up for eggs...

Finding eggs this year became a bit more challenging. Brandon's sixth grade class built a castle over a period of a few months. After it was completed he was picked to be able to bring it home. It created quite the building enjoyment for quite some time, as well as quite the eye sore!

Always a delightful moment when you find something you really like hiding inside your egg!

Classic Zach! This facial expression along with the mess on the face is 100% Zachary.

Andrew played catcher, pitcher and third base for the Sand Gnats this spring.

Pursing the lips in anticipation of Andrew pitching...

Grandma and Grandpa Teuscher brought Andrew's birthday gift out for his baptism. A cross-bow marshmallow shooter. The boys were all thrilled. Mom was beyond thrilled:-). Grandma was too thoughtful, she included a bag of marshmallows so it could be put to use immediately.

Andrew was baptized on April 21, 2012 in the Gilbert San Tan Stake Center, which is also the building we meet in.

Jenny, Tess, Grandma Benson, Stephanie, Brian, Grandpa Teuscher, Grandma Teuscher, Dawn and in the front, Brandon, Zachary, Andrew and Matthew.

Getting Tess to sit with the boys was not what she had in mind for a sunday afternoon.

Jenny, Steph, Tess and Zach. We were so happy to have Jenny and Tess come stay with us for a few days. We loved having a little girl in the house, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed having someone younger to look out after.

Andrew was awarded Student of the Month for his Second Grade class with Mrs. Adame.

Sixth Grade Science Project: Beverages and their resulting stomach gases. Could you get anything more boy? Body and gasses. I don't think so. Water bottles filled with various drinks were placed on heating pads, to mimic the heat of the stomach. Balloon were placed on top to trap the resulting gas that was produced when the liquids got warm. Coke produced gas the fastest. But Root Beer produced the most gas over a four hour period. Which in practical application would explain why we have so many children burping when we get Root Beer!

The final results lined up in order of amount of gas produced.
