December

Matthew received Student of the Month in Mrs. Munsil's class.

Matthew received his Bear award in Cub scouts. Korbin and Stephanie J. are next to us.

Decorating the Christmas tree.

Nothing like a good Nog mustache.

So glad we have a multipurpose BBQ.

Gilbert Temple Sept. 2011

There is a Visitors Center to the south of the Temple. A viewing area is there along with a slab of the concrete walls. The walls are being made in Texas and then shipped over here. Someone made an outline of the temple with the bricks in front of the parking spaces. The trailer has a small room with pictures from other temples as well as pictures from the construction of this one. Brother and Sister Miller are missionaries called to work there and they fill you in on what is currently being worked on. The Angel Moroni should reach to the height of the bend in the crane.

Queen Creek Parade

Time to ring in the holiday's with the Queen Creek Parade. Matthew paticipated in STUCO this year, so he had the opportunity to walk and hand out candy. Proof that it does get cool here: hats on the boys and an overcast sky. We miraculously got a jacket on Zachary, but couldn't persuade him to wear tennis shoes.

Matthew sharing the loot...it is like halloween we come home with a bag of candy. Every float or entry passes out something, more often than not candy.
Santa on the old Gilbert Fire Truck.

Corn Maze

We made it to the corn maze, but a little later in the season. The maze had been pretty walked through and new paths had been trampled down. Still a twisting turned around feeling! Dusk is my favorite time to walk through, it is still light enough and generally you get a beautiful AZ fall sunset over the corn. I'm doubtful anyone else even notices this minor detail!Korbin came with us this year.

Thanksgiving

We smoked the turkey this year, which turned out really well. Grandma and Grandpa Teuscher, Dawn and Laurel were all here for the weekend. It was a beautiful arizona weekend. Mid 70's and sunny. Craig, Gayle and their kids were down as well.

We hiked Fat Man's pass with the cousins and some of their Groberg cousins, some of the boys went geo-caching, Matthew went shooting in the desert, launching rockets at the park, and a sleep over. We treasure the times when we can be with family, and when the boys have the opportunity to play with their cousins.

Ice cream a day late. Thanksgiving dinner had filled us up.
