May

Brandon earned his Wolf badge at this last Pack Meeting. As is tradition, to get the wolf badge the boys have to eat a pie of whipped cream, and the award is burried at the bottom. Brandon was looking forward to it all day-- and was so excited to get it. They also give out an early bird award, this month it was a supersized chocolate bar- Andrew's name got drawn. He was a proud little four year old marching up there- his grin was as big as the chocolate bar.

Brandon was awarded the academic certificate for his class this year, during flag ceremony one morning last week. We are proud of his efforts in school this year.

This is his class, his teacher Mrs. Youngs at ther class party the last day of school. As if the kids weren't amped up enough --during the middle of the party we started hearing a pitter patter on the windows- it was RAINING. It doesn't rain in AZ. The schools are not built with rain in mind. The kids went NUTS. There was no settling them down. So we ended the year in a torrential down pour. We drove home 25 miles an hour- I couldn't see out the front window and Zachary was screaming because of the loud pounding on the roof of the car. We had a swing of over 50 degrees in two days- we were roasting at 110 two days prior- WILD stuff.

Matthew was awarded the Citizenship award during "Kindergarten Graduation". He's a smart, sweet boy!

Matthew with his two best friends, Ben on the left and Korbin on the right. These three boys have been in Preschool and Kindergarten together the last three years. They play together most afternoons of the week and we certainly enjoy the sweet friendship they share.

Last, but not least is Andrew's preschool graduation. They performed the 'ABC's of preschool' for us- a medly of songs starting with variuos letters of the alpahbet.

A few shots of Zachary- he is sitting and starting to move forward on the floor- we won't be safe much longer. He and Andrew helped me plant a few flowers last week.
My good helper.
Brian's sister Dawn is staying with us for awhile. She just graduated with her PhD in Math Education and will begin teaching at ASU Polytechnic in August. We have enjoyed having her with us. We were able to see Brian's parents for one afternoon as they drove her car out and then flew home to SD. Brian's mom finally got Brandon's Bobcat badge sewn on his uniform an hour before Pack Meeting. Somehow I could get other boys badges and shirts put together, but I couldn't seem to get Brandon's done. Thank goodness for Grandma's!

Sponge vs. Dish Rag

I've flip flopped over the years between the two. Started out using a sponge when we were first married because that is what my mom used. Then got disenchanted with it, so switched to a dish rag....back and forth....back and forth. What do you use? Do you recommend a certain brand? Just curious.
